1. Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I’m originally from Argentina. I grew up in a family that’s been involved both in the fashion and music industry in the past 20 years. Since little I had a lot of exposure to art, music and films. I’m a big fan of movie director Federico Fellini, must have seen Fellini 8 ½ a dozen times. The fist time I saw a Helmut Newton book that my sister had in her room I felt in love with photography.

2. How long have you been a fashion photographer?

Although I’ve always had an interest in Fashion photography I started my career as a Director of photography. It wasn’t until a year ago that I launched myself as a Fashion photographer.

3. How would you describe your style?

I have a really graphic style and I’m drawn to geometric shapes. A minimalist approach to lighting is always present in my photos and mostly work with clean beautiful light. I find it really important for all elements to coexist in an organic way when I shoot to achieve great photographs.

4. What type of cameras do you shoot with?

Mostly I shoot digital and also like to have a play with my Polaroid camera. Truth is I only started shooting digital in 2011, before that I was only shooting film with my beautiful 35mm Canon TL.

5. Tell us a photographer who inspires you.

There’s so many photographers that inspire me, it feels impossible to find just one. Big names in photography like Bresson, Guy Bourdin, & Avedon all inspire me for different reasons. I also find a lot of inspiration in Argentine photographers Luciana Val & Franco Muso and from this side of the ocean I love Romain Duquesne’s work. There’s really interesting elements to their work and style.

6. What do you feel the most challenging thing about fashion photography?

I think one of the most challenging things about the industry is actually getting into the industry and trying to make a name for yourself. For an emerging photographer it can be quite challenging to get your first break. But it’s like a domino effect, once things get in motion doors will start opening.

7. Any advice you have for someone who would like to pursue in fashion photography?

Be true to yourself and your vision, even if it doesn’t seem to fit in. Be ready to work hard and improve yourself. Collaborate as much as you can and be open to crazy creative ideas; they might lead somewhere interesting and new.

8. What is your greatest fear?

Not been able to do what I love; and that scrunchies have a comeback.

9. Any upcoming project you would like to share with us?

I can’t give away much at the moment; but I’m in the works of shooting a project that will combine both my love for film and fashion photography. What I can tell you is that it’s not something you see every day in the NZ industry.

10. How did you feel photographing or working with our Talia at her test shoot? And will you work with her again in the future?

I thought Talia has a lot of potential as a new face and that she took direction really well, which is mostly desired. Often with new models it can be quite challenging to get them out of their comfort zone and start exploring different looks and poses. Talia was really open to my direction and she got the concept right really fast. I found she had a really interesting editorial look but that she could easily be cast for a commercial shoot. I would definitely work with her again; she has a great personality.
